Cloud Services Platform
Cloud computing concept implies possibility to grant remote access to various services to final users. At this, services known as "cloud services" can be divided into three main groups:
- infrastructure as a service (IaaS);
- platform as a service (PaaS);
- software as a service (SaaS).
Every group allows the final user to stop using own information infrastructure and rent it from corresponding provider at some commercial DPC. At this the rent of required service shall compulsory correspond to five characteristics:
- self-service on request;
- elasticity;
- network access availability;
- measurability of the service proposed;
- unification of multiuser resources.
All this defines strict conditions for the service provider when, on the one hand, it shall ensure the characteristics listed above and, on the other hand, control situation in respect of the DPC resources to exclude failures of the services requested. No doubt, the automation and control level in provision of guaranteed access to services will directly define its reliable operation. In these connections, DPC shall initially include all required conditions for effective control including cloud infrastructure control.
It is also important to note that the cloud infrastructure itself can be defined by several implementation methods:
- private cloud (for enterprise);
- community cloud (for separate group);
- public cloud (for all users with any access channel);
- hybrid cloud (can be a combination of three aforementioned ones).
The main problem IT personnel faces when using virtualization technologies is introduction of security assurance mechanisms which will allow to fully use virtual environment possibilities. These include possibility to allocate virtual machines with different security levels at one server, organization of protection using mechanisms such as vMotion, protection of inactive or autonomous virtual machines and possibility to extend virtual environment for cloud computing. Our company offers solutions ensuring full and safe use of all virtual environment possibilities.
Solutions to control cloud infrastructure include all required tools for automated deployment and support of private clouds based on hypervisors produced by the leading manufacturers (Citrix, Microsoft and VMware). Integrated tools of these solutions cover all stages of the cloud service and application life cycle focusing mostly on self-service scenarios including control of complex application software.
Service life cycle control includes service template creation tools (including those using complex multi-star architecture on the basis of virtual machines, operation system patterns and application packages), service scaling by increase of virtual machine number in charge of certain roles (for example, web-servers), monitoring of service performance and state and separation of OS pattern and application update with service based on patterns.
The solutions offered by Open Technologies include portal for the self-control of services in cloud infrastructure. With its help the cloud resource consumer can deploy new services, adjust them and monitor their current state.
